Express Course B1 – Use and improve German – only 3 days per week

The B1 Express Course is an intensive language course for learners who already have a solid foundation and want to improve their German purposefully and practically to the B1 level. In just three days per week with 6 hours of lessons per week, you will reach your goal in a short time – ideal for working professionals, students, or parents.
In the course, you will expand your ability to speak coherently, argue, write texts, and confidently engage in conversations – even on more complex topics.
B1 is a crucial step for citizenship, labor market integration, or further education.
The course is offered in-person in Vienna and

ends with an official participation certificate that can be used as proof for authorities, employers, and exam registration.

The course is aimed at everyone who has already completed A2 knowledge and now wants to gain more confidence in everyday life, work, and communication.

The teaching in the B1 Express Course is practice-oriented and communication-focused. You will learn on three fixed days per week, for example, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with 2 hours per day.
Each session is thematically structured: first, there is a brief review, followed by an introduction to new expressions, and then practical application – speaking, writing, reading, and listening in context.
B1 means that you can already form sentences – now the focus is on connections, opinions, comparisons, causes, and plans. You will practice telling experiences, arguing in discussions, and writing simple texts such as emails, complaints, statements, or cover letters.

The course is variably structured: group work, individual exercises, simulations, presentations, and targeted grammar workshops alternate.

• Verb-noun combinations

Texts and listening exercises come from everyday life, media, work, or the education system – authentic, comprehensible, relevant.

In the B1 Express Course, you will learn to express yourself confidently and coherently on topics such as work, travel, health, media, housing, education, and everyday situations.
You will practice having more complicated conversations, expressing opinions, giving advice, describing problems, and requesting help or information in writing.
Grammatically, you will focus on:

• Relative clauses
• Connectors like “although”, “nevertheless”, “because”, “so that”
• Perfect and simple past
• Indirect speech
• Modal verbs in the past tense

In the B1 course, the active use of language is the focus. You will discuss in small groups, prepare presentations, write texts, perform role-plays (e.g. job interviews, apartment viewings), and work on improving your pronunciation.
We use a modern textbook for B1, complemented by:

• digital whiteboards
• online listening comprehension
• access to learning platforms
• dialogue training
• writing coaching
• discussion training

The teachers focus on goal-oriented teaching

with real-life situations. Each week ends with a competence check or mini-test to measure your progress.

In the B1 Express Course, you will learn in small, dynamic groups with 8 to a maximum of 16 participants. This size is ideal for intensive practice, asking individual questions, and actively speaking.
B1 means: You can already do a lot – now it’s about more fluent speaking, correct grammar, and clear structures. Small groups allow room for discussions, role-plays, feedback sessions, and targeted corrections.
Our teachers focus on equal participation and encourage individual strengths. This creates a motivating learning atmosphere with real communication.

Our materials for the B1 level have been carefully selected and modernized. You will receive:

• a certified B1 textbook
• access to the interactive learning platform
• audio texts, videos, and online exercises
• worksheets for grammar, vocabulary, and text production
• preparation materials for exams and everyday situations

several languages (English, Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic), which can be helpful for individual questions.

Our B1 trainers are certified, experienced teachers specializing in intermediate-level education. They have qualifications in DaF/DaZ, adult education, and some also hold ISO certifications (e.g., ISO 17024).
Many have additional expertise in written expression, job application training, intercultural communication, or exam preparation for ÖIF, ÖSD/telc.
